I think you could pretty safely drop the "probably" and replace it with "highly likely to be", Job. It's not a characteristic that I've ever seen on Avid exports, but it's something that VLC media player does as standard.
Does Lightworks Slide trim multiple clips as well?
Yes, and much more complex adjustments than that can be done, but this isn't a Lightworks forum. I shouldn't have made that comment. My apologies.
Please remember how MC lead the NLE pack with cool, robust, handy features like multi-segment Slip & Slide trimming.
No they didn't. Lightworks was doing that in 1991.
That - mark it, then CTRL + ALT + c - was a piece of wisdom, amongst so many, echoing down the years, from the late great Larry Rubin.
Since I've retired I don't come here as often as I used to, but I still think of Larry often. Lightworks does exactly that, and also allows other arbitrary key combinations. You can assign V1 to select video track 1 for example. That's not the best example I guess, but you take my point. It can be incredibly useful.

It's definitely going to be much simpler to parse an EDL than an AVB file. To write an app to do it would be trival compared to writing an app to extract the information from an AVB.
