Very happy with the Gigabyte Aorus x299 'cuz I can add a two port Thunderbolt III card. The only problem is that when you add the Tbolt card, the second PCI video card slot gets obstructed. A PCI extender cable solves the problem, handily.

Thanx for confirming, Dom. What a pleasant surprise that this works.

Quite by mistake, I set up a Windows RAID 0 using one SSD each on a different Thunderbolt 2 bus controller. When I ran the Blackmagic disk speed test on the RAID, it clocked write speeds around 1000MB/sec. Pretty much surprised me because the same two drives RAIDed together on the same T2 bus clocked at 650MB/sec.

May I suggest that any device that can record and present DNxHR or Prores, is the answer to your question. There are many cameras that record in these codecs; and, even more external recorders that can record in these codecs. Some examples are: 1- Convergent Design odyssey 2- Atomos Flame or Inferno 3- Black magic design recorders

I'm currently running the Avid prescribed driver, however, because I run Davinci Resolve on the same machine, I occasionally have to run the latest driver prescribed by Blackmagic. I've never encountered any driver errors.

I'm running GTX 1070 + Quadro 4000. While MC will only work with one GPU, either one works a champ.

From what I can discern, Apple did a very successful marketing campaign with ProRes,

I believe it's really 10-bit, not 4K, that has improved the capability of CC. I have a k4000 that is quite adequate for 4k work, albeit a wee bit slow on processing. Working with HD proxy is de riguer for this configuration, especially with very long timelines.

Let me begin by saying, clearly, that I love MC. I've been using MC since v3. It's always been a dependable platform for my editing. Having said that, my last build was an Intel platform with Thunderbolt II and a dual GPU setup, one nVidia Quadro 4000 card, to satisfy my display needs, and one nVidia GTX1070 for GPU processing. This setup is
