I've had the same problem using blackmagic gea, stopping with no error. Using an AJA IO express with software 10.6.1 & open IO seems to have sorted it. I'm not sure what causes the freezes. St.John

I have an old version of avid media composer (vs 4.05), can I use the upgrade to purchase the new licence, or is it so old that I have to but a new one? Thanks St.John

I too have this problem, if you click on Get Info for the avid utilities bin,in the sharing & permissions section there is no administrator or system, just something called fetching!! Just add an administrator, & in the cogs menu tick the apply to enclosed items box. It should now work (or at least it does on mine now) St.John

I've just upgraded to media composer v6.52- to get v7 upgrade when it's released, unfortunatelt I get this error message on trying to register my software Error: Duplicate Registration Detected Avid Product Registration not completed: The System ID and/or Serial Number has exceeded the allowable registrations. You used to be able to install Media composer (6.032) and same symphony on a computer and run either depending on which dongle was plugged in. On 6.52 it doesnt seem to work, the app cant find the licence of the first installed programme. Has any one got it to work? (I realise I only need to wait till v7 is released.) Thanks St.John

Thanks for your response, that is what I did! The problem comes when you are exporting unrendered material, there doesnt seem to be a way to change where Avid makes these renders. St.John

I'm temporarily connected to an ISIS 5000 and MC 6.0.3.2, one of my media partitions is now full. When I make a QT ref, the avid tries to render to this full partition, even though I have specified a different location in the media creation setting. Anyone know how to change the location of export renders, as there is no render location in the options

For the first time I can drag music/ sound effects from itunes directly into media composer without going via the desktop, and no crashes! St.John
