• Re: Convert Project from SD to HD

Just an update... I tried as you suggested just to see if I should go that route and save some space on our unity by not capturing everything in HD, but instead only the stuff I end up needing for the sequence. So I imported the bin from the SD project into the 720p project. I modified the timeline under "set format". The format column showed

  • Re: Convert Project from SD to HD

Thanks for the response. I tried that briefly and it does work. The only problem I have with that is that I would only be re-digitizing and re-importing the material that was used in those sequence and not all the clips of everything I had in the SD project. I just like having everything available to me in both projects. I guess I would like to have

  • Convert Project from SD to HD

Hi everyone. So here's the situation. We've got 720p 23.976 fps footage that we shot. Because some of our rooms here are HD equipped but not others, we're going to be editing in SD, and then at the end, go into an HD project to recapture everything for our final HD output. I've been doing some testing and can't seem to figure out

  • Re: BCC Chroma Keying Workflow in Avid Media Composer

Awesome work. We definitely need this kind of stuff. There seems to be plenty of tutorials on all the basic avid functions and shortcuts and stuff, but the fact is that Avids now come with BCC, Avid FX, Avid DVD, etc....so learning those things as well would be beneficial to all. More tools that most people own that they can now start to implement if

But, as mentioned above, once the session has ended by exiting MC, they are no longer part of an Undo List. They are just taking up space.
How would the Avid tell if a certain render is not used in any previous version of any sequence in any bin? Sounds like a recipe

  • Re: Globally setting IN/OUT Points on Clips in a Bin

Hey Douglas, I just want to reiterate what everyone else has been saying and let you know that I think it's amazing you've pulled all these tutorials together. I think you're doing a great service for Avid. Just a quick little note though. In the video when you want to make those pictures 8 seconds long by making the in point at the 1 second

I've used this thing called Keyfinder a few times and it's always worked for me... http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ It'll also return other serial numbers it finds on your computer.

Select all your keyframes (Ctrl-A) and then change the opacity. Just make sure that you click over to the record monitor when you're doing a select-all.
Have your eyes open to what I write and don't interpret them your way. Don't be blind. I say that Instant Save isn't affected by how many users are accesing the system because I haven't heard of anything like this before. Where exactly someone has that experience from? Is Instantsave a feature of MC
  • Re: What I want for XMas
Going back to another statement you made... I'm just curious how would you update the "antiquated interface". What part of the interface is antiquated? Because as far as I can see, a) it's been updated recently b) it maintains a "Bin, Timeline, Source/Record Monitor" design that the
