JayT - I posted a bitrate calulator for you to www.take-one.net/client and enter suer and pw: avid Please LOGOUT when down downloading it. One thing that drives me crazy about DVD Studio, DVDit and Encore is it wants to Transcode your video again. So a common problem for DVDit folks is the transcode settings may be higher than the rate you encoded it

Yeah I don't trust/like the meters in the Avid so we have Dorrough loudness meters, but their expensive, so yeah your 1500 deck's meters are the ticket. The tone should be at -20 and the program should hover around -10db, but if you have a lot of dynamic range it can go below there, but never really above -10db.

And how about a Spell Checker (like Inscriber has) for all us bad spellers/editors. (I'm convinced all editors are bad spellers). And on that note, a spell checker for this forum. And Inscriber has a Character Map which is handy for Wingdings and Foreign Langauges.

-20db for tone and your program should be around -10db.

Yeah better Inscriber integration would be wonderful. I've talked to the product manager at Inscriber/Harris about this and they said they'd love to, if Avid came a callin'. I've been using Boris Red lately and it does some very sweet titling and is very fast once you get your head around it's interface. The text is much tighter

I'm not sure where to post this... but as of today I'm getting 2 copies of every post in this forum. Is anyone else? How do I reset to just get one copy? Thanks.

Did you get 5.0 PRO for that price? I just paid $278 off their site. Uggg.
-
Yeah, what's the deal? If you enter a promotion code of nab408 you get 10% off. So with a shipped CD Suite 4.5 to Pro 5.0 cost $278. 5.0 is very cool and a major overhaul, but we've had some serious bugs.

This is a general question relating to this post, but for SD footage, does 10bit really buy you anything in the way of quality? And if not, doesn't it increase your file sizes?
