I asked that question recently and word from Marinna and a few others was 2021.6 was stable. As for the difference between 2020.9 I have no clue. I had 2020.6.
Also whether it's twice the price or half the price per year doesn't make a huge difference to my business model.. It's one of the smaller costs of running a facility in my experience. Nige
Exactly, I don't get why all these folks belly ache about the cost of Avid in the big scheme of things

I saw someone mention the NVIDIA RTX card. I was going to keep my mouth shut since its not certified. I have a RTX2060-S in a uncertified ASUS ZenBook DuoPro and in my main certified HP Z840, both work like a charm. I was going to get a P5000 or something like that was crazy expensive, but my business, or lack-there-of, couldn't justify it. You

I just bought some perpetual licences for $399 and I think that's a pretty good deal. I don't have to ever upgrade again if I don't want or need to. I don't need to pay for a subscription. How long was it $299, 10 years? (I have no idea, but sounds about right) 3% a year increase, that's the rate of inflation/COLA. Most of us fail

Call me a Kool-Aid drinker but SaaS is here to stay through out the software industry and AVIDs at least is still offering a perpetual option that's still resonable. I never need support nor upgrades, hence my post looking for the latest stable release. I'll buy that upgrade and it'll serve me well until there's a very compelling reason

I'd like to upgrade to the most stable, latest "new" version of MC-PC to get the perpetual licence before the impending rate increase. I was on 6.5 forever and found it stable as can be and only upgraded about 3 years ago to get 4K and XAVC support. I never use support, and I don't like to "upgrade" to get as many bugs as

As far as I can tell they are trying to get people to use the new S version of Windows which, like Mr Cole said, requires any software you install be available through the MS Store, which is a non-starter as we oftern need odd-ball utilities or software such as VLC, or MC etc etc that problaby wont be in their store. (I can't imagine using AvidLink
Are you sure? I thought thunderbolt and USB - C had different pins? But yeah they're not the same in one direction. I have a Decklink 12G 4K

What about slomo of 50%.
I'd rather have a high quality than a high resolution display.
Amen brother. I tried a consumer Sony OLED monitor to save money on a suite that wasn't used much. Being upclose, as one would be in an edit situation, I could tell a notable lack of quality in the consumer Sony vs broadcast monitors. I've
