bump.. Can I get a definitive answer on that? And if you are not able to answer who can I ask? Thanks
-
Any chance we're getting a native version soon? It's been years..

Hello Chris, I'm well aware of all that, what I'm asking is a precise point about options bought as perpetual and not subscriptions. Phrase find for example I bought as perpetual and attached to my perpetual MC. Here is the link to the discontinued product sold by videoguys. https://videoguys.com/products/avid-media-composer-perpetual-phrasefind

Thanks for your detailed answer, just to be clear, my options are perpetual ones, I bought them once a few years ago at a higher price then yearly subscriptions to the same options. Phrasefind and Symphony are also proposed as yearly subscriptions with MC standard and that's confusing.. The ones I bought kept working year after year attached to

Thanks for the clarification. I have a perpetual license with symphony and phrasefind perpetual options, I plan to let it lapse since perpetual won't be updatable anyways starting 2025. My question is when I will want to move to subscription to benefit from up to date MC, let's say in 2025 for example, will I need to crossgrade to Ultimate to
Our initial testing for this is just stunning. We were taken aback by how well MC runs via Rosetta. There are indeed some things we've been tweaking and upgrading. It hasn't been a cake-walk. However the result, which is now in beta, is terrific. Our plans for full integration are later in 2022. There

Hello, Can we have an official statement on this? My perpetual support ends in march and I intend to let it lapse, I have a symphony option and a phrase find option attached to it, I need to keep those working. Those options were sold as perpetual, I really don't see why they should stop working with that license?
-
I believe backward compatibility won't be a problem for perpetual or subscription, and it's something very valuable with avid, but that's totally off the point. The reality of pricing today is that avid asks the same amount by year for perpetual support and updates or for ultimate subs and at the same time perpetual gets more and more crippled
-
It's just ridiculous, same pricing as subscription but crippled, what's the logic? When it was 300 and buy once the perpetual options you need it still made sense somehow but now we are just better of letting support on those licenses die since it is dying anyways in 2025. With the current pace of updates and this absurd segmentation we won't
Now that feeling is back. Symphony, Phrasefind, Scriptsync, bin sharing, and now ProTools Export are all useful to somebody, and the person that has to pay more to get the one that's useful to them is going to feel cheated.
Yes it's a shame and makes no sense, I can understand that perpetual needs add
