Matt, you might want to take a look at my specs
Thomas - I have had a look at your specs. You seem to have a quad core (QX6700) based machine running happily with an FX1800 GPU. On that basis I am surprised that my dual twin core (ie also 4 core) Xeon with the same PNY FX1800 GPU is so unresponsive.

Thomas - there are two systems listed on my system specs, the first is the E6700 core 2 duo (home build, home based) but the second is the Dual twin core Xeon that I was trying to install MC6 on. I never expected the firs to cope, but my question is :- if I swapped the FX3700 GPU from machine 1 (core 2 Duo) to machine 2 (Xeon quad core) would that be

Actually twin processor, 4 cores - but I take your point. My expectation was that if a 32bit application was running fine using (in theory) half the processor capability, then an application which used all of it would be fine too. Obviousley misguided, but there was no denying the dissapointment. The plan to move up to 6 will have to wait till the hardwarte

  • MC6 - bit of a dissapointment here so far

Maybe our Dual twin core Xeon Dell Precision and Quadro FX 1800 GPU are not man enough to handle MC6, even though well above the minimum specs, but after all the excitement and anticipation of MC 6 I have to say it has been a major dissapointment. We have (for the time being) been forced to revert to 5.5.2. Why? Well maybe I was misguided, but I believed

  • Re: MC 6 - No HDV support?
The thinraster codecs still are there, in your capture box, also with a Matrox box connected, just switch to firewire and select the HDV 1080i codec , it´s still the same old codec as usual, HDV is always 1440 x 1080, Avid haven´t changed HDV to 1920 x 1080 yet
Thomas - The ability to switch off

  • Re: Help! Having dual monitor issues with MC6

I swapped the leads over at the graphica card end (I figured; the same effect as physically swapping monitors without the labour) and guess what:- NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER. How did that happen? the main monitor is still the left one (although now plugged into the other connector). The only clue that I swapped over the connectors is that the boot-up
