  • 24p to 25p, doest it work?

Well I guess the title says it all. I have 24p material from a Panasonic GH2 which I have cut in a 23.976 timeline. For TV purposes, via Apple TV, I wanted to convert this to 25p PAL, so I opened a new project , imported the 24p sequence, got the message that asked me If I wanted to convert, and it duly seemed to do the job. The qt ref file plays reasonably

  • Re: encoding 50p material with Squeeze 5

Well I can report that I have now had another look at this. I have tried numerous settings now with a QT ref file from a mixdown. I have tried different data rates, frame rates and tried to limit the bit rate, but alas to no avail. They all look depressingly similar with mud blocking and jerky pans. Hmmmm..... Dave

Ok gentlemen, many thanks for the advice. I will mixdown as suggested and encode with CBR and see how it looks. I shall report back in due course. Dave

Hi Andrew thanks for responding. I hadn't thought about doing a video mixdown, but perhaps you can tell me what differnce this may make. The original source files were avchd .mts files which were transcoded on import to DNx 120 (I think). I will try this anyway and see if it makes a difference. I have had no previous problems with multi pass mp4

Hi Tomas and thanks for responding. I'm certain it's an encoding problem but $499 is a lot to pay to upgrade! Dave

  • encoding 50p material with Squeeze 5

Hope it's ok posting this here as Squeeze 5 is part of the production suite. I've use Squeeze now on a number of occasions for uploading video to Vimeo. Mainly it's been 1920 x 1080i material which has been cut on MC 5 and output as a qt ref for subsequent import to squeeze. Here I have created mpeg 4 files , changed the size to 1280 x 720

  • Re: 24p material to DVD...possible?

Hello Job, I will give that a try although not being at my Imac now, I'm not sure if iDVD will burn a 23.98 disc. I shall have a look tonight. I was reading something about mixed framerates and it got me wondering, would it be possible to import my 23 98 sequence into a 25 p project and the clips would be converted automatically? Dave
