  • Tracking display.

Can someone set me straight on something I repeatedly encounter when setting up tracking. I activate the tracking window and the 'display' mode is set to 'Tracking Data'. The tracking box is shining bright ready to be set, great, BUT THE DISPLAY IS BLACK. So I change the 'Display' to 'Effect Results' and hey pesto, the

  • Re: Drawing shapes in animatte.

I suppose the only way of doing fine detail is to draw a rough shape and then zoom in and edit the shape. ctrl+alt works as expected when zoomed in and editing the shape, slightly incovenient and strange but it works.

  • Drawing shapes in animatte.

I'm zoomed in 2x on the viewer and drawing a freehand shape in animatte but to complete the shape I need to move around the image, so I press ctrl+alt but instead of changing to the hand symbol, the cross for defining the shape remains. Is there a way of moving around the image to finish drawing the shape or (as I have done many times) do I have

  • Separate track views.

Is there a way to view different tracks in different viewers at the same time, in a similar way to a compositor eg. v1 in the left viewer and v2 in the right viewer? It would be handy for lining up layers for applying effects such as animatte.

  • Re: Napoleon Dynamite Dancing - Blur Nudity

You could probably achieve what you want using the Gridwarp tool in Blackmagic Fusion. Basically it involves bending a flat 2D grid around the contours of an object, then flatening the grid out saving the data involved in the flatening. Then you can for example write your text on the flat surface before using the saved data to re contour the surface

  • Re: AMA link to clip, but have it play at slower project framerate.

[quote user="Job ter Burg"] Ooof, I beg to differ. AFAIK, MC does change the audio rate as well when changing playback speed in source settings. If you need to compensate for pitch, it is really much better to do that AFTER the slowdown or speedup. And Avid's built-in audio retime plugins are far from great. I would let the audio house

There are no complications unless your clip has audio and you intent to use it. In that case I would add few extra steps. I would set the clip source to the project frame rate, put it on it's own sequence and adjust the audio with an audio filter so that the duration of the audio matches the video. Then export that at the project frame rate and

  • Re: Need your help with Testing 4K video on your computer

My guess is no one is going to download 8.5GB. I would suggest you come up with a way to offer a shorter smaller file, which could then be joined end on end on end to make a large file or some other method that lets the file be expanded by the end user in a consistent way but stil represents the type of file you will be working with.

  • Re: Independent Resolutions

Well one or two have already been mentioned. Linking to high resolution files can for most people who don't have bleeding edge hardware, require the use of lower resolution proxy files and the need to link, unlink, relink (not always successfully according to fairly regular posts to this forum). This would be no longer necessary. Creating separate

  • Re: Independent Resolutions

There are a few major workflows that are lengthened and made more complicated simply by the lack of sequence format indipendence. Whether it's worth a major rewrite, which may take many versions to get reliable and may not be compatable with previous versions, is the million dollar question.
