In the subscription vs. perpetual debate, the major benefit of a subscription software model is the ease and simplicity for you, the customer. With SaaS software, the subscription includes all servers, storage, the management of that infrastructure, and essentially, everything that you need to actually run the

Depends also on the effect pipeline. Some effects have a hard time with long-GOP media and if you build up a stack of effects you may find that DNx codecs play better than long-GOP.
+1, and I suspect many, many more. I know of no one asking for this, and certainly did not read about that odd conclusion here, or elsewhere. Sadly, sounds like a false justifiation for a very misplaced path towards the need for a Mac-compatible titler. And of course, that was four years ago...more than sufficient time
Use Boris or Newblue. Avid has no care to fix the Titler. It's all about subscriptions and shareholders.
That's simply not true. Avid has admitted that Titler+ is seriously lacking and is presently invested in improving it. There is a separate forum dedicated to Titler+. In its present form, Titler+ is
I'm afraid I found the first bug on the Avid 2021.9 -> Windows 11 line. Export to HEVC is not functioning properly. Windows 11 has HEVC's default player, requires purchase from Microsoft Store (about 1 U $). If I am trying to play an exported clip with this player, there is no audio. If I play MPC-HC, I get
I don't understand, it seems to be my business. The problem was reported in Win10 and has just been confirmed. I wrote that in Win11 it appears in the same form. I did not encourage the switch to Win11, although I found that I did not notice any problems other than with workspaces. Am I doing something inappropriate
I have installed Win11, MC works normally but the problem with workspaces persists. Zbigniew
Just so you know. Media Composer is not qualified under Windows 11 and so any further observations or bugs you report will be blamed on your version of Windows. I can confirm that there are bugs in Workspaces and the

@wmcole - on the face of it, it would seem that Avid is trying to encourage customers to adopt a subscription license by penalizing those holding a perpetual license. Do you agree? It would also appear that the cost for a subscription is less than the new increased cost to renew support for a perpetual license. Is this not true? I agree with most of

I believe this is a known defect. It will happen intermittently when you click on the timeline ruler, for example. There is a setting to exit effect editor mode when clicking on the timeline ruler (enabled by default) but the effect of exiting the effect mode shouldn't also close your effect editor tab.

You can export one from Resolve to use in Media Composer, I suspect.
