• Re: Waveform Jittering

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that monitor circa 1960? It's certainly NTSC only.

  • Re: Surround sound in edit suite

It depends on whether or not you're mixing or mastering. For mixing you tend to use flat response speakers. But for mastering you want to hear what it's going to sound like at the client's end, so you want a good set if hifi (audiophile level) speakers. For me, I prefer to edit audio and video on components which are typical for my clients

What are the results from Get Info on the clip in question? Also are there any other filters on that clip?

  • Re: eliminate interlace

To be honest, there's no really good way of getting rid of interlace. The best method is where the effect analyzes the even and odd lines, and then shifts left and right 1/2 the distance to bring the two into alignment. But even this isn't perfect if the motion varies over the course of 1 frame. And it requires analyzing every single frame as
Probably caused by simply viewing low-res SD footage that is being up-sized to fit the HD raster. Agreed?
Agreed. If it were interlace issues, then you'd see alternating scan lines in the gentleman holding the rug. Speran, here's an example of an interlaced image: (public domain image) Notice the combing
Just source browser linked to A7Sii XAVC-S footage without any timecode issues guys -
It's possible that this is a camera issue then. I use a Sony AX100. UHD video has timecode, HD video does not. I'm going to shoot some new standard HD video at HD and retest (I think all of my HD video is at 1080P/60

If you're going to go through a transcode, then IMHO you should download hdcinematic's V6 (convert V4/Dali's Mustache) , rewrap to .MOV and then transcode that (or better yet, transcode directly in V6 and save a step). This is free and gets you the timecode. Note that V6 for conversion (and earlier versions) is really nothing more than a

  • Re: 2018. 8 Freezes

Just because it worked on previous versions doesn't mean it will work with the current version. This happens even with Intel processors and NVidia display cards for unsupported systems. It could be anything from a driver issue to actual incompatibility with the hardware. I'd start looking at the drivers, particularly for the video card. If you're

  • Re: XAVC-S Timecode - AMA link

OK, I ran a HD clip through Dali's Mustache, and got timecode for the first frame. It's definitly coming from the media, not freerun. Unfortunately, MediaInfo can't read the timecode of the native XAVC-S (HD or UHD). But the metadata should be the same for XAVC-S regardless. Looks like XAVC-S native for HD is still alittle buggy.
