I still can't comprehend how ProRes became a delivery standard so widely when you can't encode it (without dodgy third party tools) on Windows. It's insanity.

Thank you for the suggestion, I just gave it a try. Unfortunately that only works if you want to keep the Source Browser open by default, which I don't (especially as I'm currently working remotely on a laptop and don't have the screen real estate).

I really like the new Source Browser, but it drives me nuts that it doesn't remember its size. It defaults to a dumb shape and I have to resize it every time I open it. Drives me nuts. Quick fix?
Let's be fair. When most companies EOL a product, they give you fair notice. That Apple didn't caught everyone by surprise. You need to give the other organizations a chace to catch up.
They've had years to implement MXF support and they haven't. QuickTime's EOL is a kick up the butt, but
MXF files can neither be imported into Squeeze nor into TMPGEnc.
This is an issue for Squeeze and TMPGEnc to fix ASAP. It's absurd they haven't done so already.

As discussed in this thread , QuickTime for Windows is now officially bunk, and it's going to cause a lot of headaches for not just Avid but also Adobe, Blackmagic, and a lot of others. But the writing's been on the wall for a long while. For some reason segments of the industry standardised around .MOVs years ago, and a lot of places (especially

How do I get the "Clipboard Contents" action in the Source monitor back? The clipboard monitor is an interesting additional function, but it breaks the ability to copy from one place, extract something in the target destination to get it out of the way, and paste. Currently using the workaround of alt-ctrl-C, but it's just that, a workaround

Is this just limited to picking one video clip and one audio clip? If so that's a maybe sometimes useful feature. But if there's a way to pick multiple clips (ala PluralEyes), it's a game changer - for anyone regularly dealing with dual system video/audio. So sick of having to either generate an entire new copy of MOVs, or work with a bloody

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 on my laptop recently, and noticed that while a manual Quicktime install failed, running Apple Software Update after iTunes was installed actually worked. Quicktime 7.7.6 was listed as an option and Apple Software Update installed it fine. No need for the tricksy hack.

Have thankfully managed to fix the problem with the audio subsystem not loading - Joachim Claus pointed out in this thread it's usually a problem with the PACE service not having started. I found the PACE service was actually missing. I installed the latest iLok license manager from their website, and that seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure
