The answer to your implied question is..No, I am not stupid. lol
I appologize...in my mind for some reason, I thought perhaps you a Producer rather than an editor.

Are you sure they are cheap? Sometimes broadcast monitors are small because they specialize in reproducing accurate colors. You can't buy a television at a Big-Box store that reproduces colors accurately - you have to use a special monitor for such purposes - and they are often tiny and often retro-looking. So, are you sure they are nasty? Or are

As someone who has the 2000D, and not the 2000, I can tell you that the 2000D works fine - and completely avoids the backwards-step of DisplayPort - perhaps one of the worst technologies ever created. DisplayPort is a defective-by-design technology, and should be avoided. DVI is superior in that it won't block content, and thus, should be the choice
Hi Atomike! I see you're working on MC6.0.0 with MXO2 But what about 6.0.1? Kot
I haven't bothered to update my profile for a while - I've done so now. I'm running MC 6.0.1 with Matrox mini with the latest Beta driver, and it works perfectly with no work-arounds or settings changes. I have

Mattes and directional wipes with super, super wide and soft edges. A very muddled composition - somewhat off-putting in my opinion.
.- OH Yeah! Secondary CC makes a NLE more robust. Well, I never use it and I've been a full time editor for more than 20 years.
You are arguing preference. You prefer Media Composer's workflow. Me too. My post is saying something completely different. I'm saying that Avid can *objectively* not do

I appreciate the tips, but the defocus effect is sub-par by any standard - it doesn't actually work like a true blur should. It looks quite poor - mostly because it doesn't seem to handle the alpha channel properly. For those who doubt that Avid needs to abandon its current effects structure and move to a nodes-based structure, I give you exhibit

Capturing HDV with Avid is alot like going to Vegas - some rare folks seem to be consistent winners - most everyone else ends up crying. That being said, capturing HDV will depend entirely on a few things. 1). Make sure your deck is in HDV output mode. Avid hates any deck settings that allow either/both HDV and DV. 2). Make sure your project is set
