It is absolutely a proven fact that Avid Marketing is on an island, and does whatever they want to do or announce, making the job much harder than it should be for Avid's employees and customers. If you hear it from Marianne, it is the gospel. If you hear it from Marketing, it is fiction.

We recently switched from PC to Mac and from Avid to Premiere and haven't looked back. The editors love Premiere, particularlyt how it interfaces seeminglessly with After Effects - no need to export and import back and forth. And all recent job applicants are much better versed in Premiere than Avid. I will always believe that Avid is the better

Your best bet is find over the ear headphones without noise cancelling. We have found that with noise cancelling headphones, you are not really hearing what you are editing - too much is cancelled ou by the noice cancellation circuits.
