Yes, the stringout is for further editing. The picture above is how the AE's handed footage over to me so I can work on the stringout. It's also the same layout I hand over to the editor. It's this visual on the timeline of all tracks that I initially wanted for my own project which I'm working on that doesn't look like this after

Thanks for your reply! What I'm trying to do is what's been done on other things I've edited - each audio track is on a seperate track in the timeline, and each video track is on a seperate track, so they all look "stacked" in the timeline. (Please know I'm a producer switching from FCP Studio 7 to Avid so still learning this

  • Changing source name w/out re-ingesting so I can properly group

Hi! Short question: is it possible to change the source media name so I can properly group audio/video on seperate tracks? I've used GroupItForMe for this final process, but the group only has each camera on one track and each audio on one track (see attached photo which is actually multiple audio and video tracks). I want each audio/video on seperate

  • Re: Won't sync audio

Yup, you're correct! We would at least clap slate every time with every camera, but the 5D is definitely 1-3 frames off at all times. Soooooo, like turn blinkers at a stoplight, they're in sync for a bit and then slip out again. The waves in this photo can't be lined up... they're either a tad too early or a tad too late - something

  • Won't sync audio

Still earning this system, but haven't found an answer though this forum or Google yet. I have two cameras w/ audio (Canon 5D), along w/ audio recorded on a Zoom (L/R & lav). I place all in a timeline to group, but our clap-slate is off by less than a frame and I can't nudge ANY of the four into sync. The waveforms should make this easy

  • Shot in 8-bit but import in 10-bit?

Hi! I shot a doc with a Canon 5D Mark iv, and have been importing at DNxHD 175x. Is this a waste? Does it give me any benefits over importing 8-bit? Feels like it's taking up more space on my hard drive.... Also, if I now import the rest at 175 vs 175x will this become a problem editing in my sequences?

  • Re: Moving media between projects

YOU, Andrew.... I LOVE you! This is exactly the simple and easy answer I needed but didn't find anywhere else. THANK YOU! I agree that this answer should be posted everywhere possible! One more simple question: can I now delete everything else in the new bin that popped up with the new media I originally needed? I don't want to delete the master

  • Moving media between projects

Still new convert from FCP, and have looked up answers on this site through Google but none have solved my easy issue. I captured hdv/24p footage from my Z7u into an MC7 project, and it's perfectly fine. I now need this footage on another drive, and under another project. I have copied all the files to the new external project. (The previous files
