  • Re: Performance and database cleanup

You are right, I do have mixed frame rates... I'll do a test with only project native fps clips in a sequence to see if it makes a difference.

  • Re: Performance and database cleanup

Thanks for the help. A restart always improve a little bit the performance, but a simple closing the application and rebuilding the database works best. I have only 7 MXF folder. I can't imagine what a project with 50+ folders might look like! I've cleaned up the AMA Management folder I have 64 GB 2666 MHz of DDR4 I don't see anything out

  • Performance and database cleanup

I’m working on a documentary with quite a lot of files and about 250 hours of footage. I find the performance in the timeline quite sluggish after a day of work. The only thing that seems to help is to delete the database files (msmMMOB, msmDB) and have MC rebuild the database. But this takes about 20 minutes, so it’s not something I want

  • Match Frame on Multicam Subclip ?

It seems that if I use a subclip from a multicam (for example a specific answer in an interview with two cameras) in my sequence, if I use the match frame function it brings me back to the multicam's master clip instead of the multicam's subclip. This is really annoying... Any way to have MC load the Subclip instead of my masterclip like it

  • Re: Can't export of mixdown: errcode:-2034.

Problem solved (for now): I disabled the GPU effects in the render settings... This make sense for the Mixdown error but I don't understand why...

  • Can't export of mixdown: errcode:-2034.

I’m getting an error everytime I’m trying my 4k projectr: errcode:-2034. I’ve tried exporting in both 4K and HD with DNxHD or DNxHR. I’ve tried, ProRes, H264, same error all the time after just a few seconds. I’ve tried the divide and conquer method but it won't export no matter how small my selection is. I’ve

  • Re: How do I change colors of clips in timeline?

This is what I see in the manual but can't find the "Set Local Clip Color" from the Edit Menu in MC 2018.10. You can assign local colors to clips in the Timeline — for example, to indicate clips that you want to group together or to make clips stand out while you work in the Timeline. To assign a local clip color: Click the Timeline

  • Create Sequence from Search Result OR Media Tool with SubClip ?

I'm working on a project with dozens of interviews. All of them are categorized in multiple categories (custom headings with keywords). This morning I wanted to create a sequence with all clips (about 200) with the keyword "Mother". To my surprise I just realized I can't create a sequence from the search results box... I would need

  • Re: Change to Y/Y or Y/Gr mode

Of course I knew that. The information was confusing. Thank you!

  • Change to Y/Y or Y/Gr mode

I was looking at this optimization guide because I’d like my timeline to be snappier: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/how_to/Media-Composer-Software-High-Resolution-Workflow-Tips Can anyone explain to me what “Change to Y/Y or Y/Gr mode” is and where I can find this setting ?
