    Customizing project format

    Hello everyone,

Is there any way I can customize the projectformat in AVID MC 5.5.1?

One of our clients wants to build a projection screen of 360˚ in a rather odd dimension (7680 x 800) to fit a specific space in a tower. They asked us to put together a film that contains of panoramic photographs (360˚), historic material (4:3 black/white stuff), animation and recent film work shot on the Canon 5 Mark II.

The projection has three players with each two beamers. So each player covers a part of the screen (120˚).

So ultimately we have to deliver the film in three matching parts of 2560 x 800.

But for the best perspective in editing we would like to edit in the projection format of 7680x800. Is this at all possible? Or if not, is it even possible to edit in 2560 x 800?

Or should we move to After Effect to do the sizing and matching?

I very much would appreciate your insights on this.

    Re: Customizing project format

    hi alex28,

no chance at all - ae will be the solution.

you can precut some stuff in mc at 1920x1080 and export it to ae for compositing there.

Media Composer is limited to HD resolution 1920x1080 maximum.

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube (masquerading as a kleenex dispenser). [view my complete system specs]

Must think of something clever to go here...
