Waveform or Vectorscope Outside of Color Correction mode?

Is it possible to use the source monitor as a vectorscope or waveform display of the video in the sequence, even when you are not in color correction mode?

Currently only when you're in the capture or video input mode with additional BOB hardware, like Adrenaline, Mojo or Nitris. About a month ago, I made a features request for a waveform/vector tool that could be opened and used in any mode.

    That's annoying.

How about a freeware program that could display vectorscope/waveform info off of MC's 1394 client monitoring? I doubt that anyone has made a program that specific, but it'd be cool anyway.

If you find one, let me know, I'd love to try it out. But I still think it wouldn't be that difficult for Avid to take the existing scope tools in CC and make them stand alone.

I wouldn't think so. Who knows.

    Coudnt agree with you more.

I've never used it but 3Prong makes a plug-in for this.  It does cost $60, but you can try before you buy.  Here's the link http://www.3prong.com/  Good luck

Honestly it'd be nice, but not worth $60. And it does seem like a feature MC should have already.

Adobe's Onlocation will do that for you. (along with other useful things)

Re: Waveform or Vectorscope Outside of Color Correction mode?

I use a waveform monitor/vectorscope tool sold by Hamlet called VDSCOPE. This tool is invaluable and can be synced to the NLE timeline. One drawback, however, is that it is very pricey.

Another option is a display with a built in WFM/Vectorscope. Take a look at Blackmagic Design's WFM software.
