Graphics card for Avid Media composer

    Hi

I am just in the process of changing over from Avid Liquid ti Avid Media composer. It states on the system requirements that I need a Nvidia Quadroi FX560 or higher. Will this program work on a lesser Graphics Card as when I received the trial I actually had it working on a Radian card.

Hope some one out there can help.

    Regards

    Bob

    Bob:

If it works with the trial version, at least you have a reasonable chance. But be advised that it, or any other non-qualified card can run smoothly for a while, and then develop a serious problem down the road which tech support may not be able to solve. I would say continue to run on the Radian card, push it hard, and see how it holds up over time. Only you can make the call. Just understand that non-qualified cards are a gamble.

If there are problems, they will likely present when OpenGL based Fx are used. If you have a newer Radeon card with enough horsepower it can (probably) muscle fx via software OpenGl. Not a optimum solution, but usable.
