secondly I went to capture tool selected the deck and I obtain an I/O Error. If I tried to select the video track I obtain a message like " no input signal"

    where I'm wrong?

The sistem operation is windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit

useless to say that liquid and Windows vista don't have this problem

    Re: Capturing problems

Hi Ugo, you might have been using that cam for some time, it is no longer able to find at the Sony sites, I suppose it is an SD cam that is fw connected.

First, do you have your SD project settings to DV 420 in your capture dialog

If you have more than one, try a different FW port on your computer.

HV30 works fine here. At laptop and desktop.

It produces some glitches now and then but you can overcome them somehow if you

stripe the tape before. This is at HDV. At SD never had problems.

The only drawback of the camera is that it can't play DVCam content.

    Re: Capturing problems

With 64-bit OS theere is often a problem with the 1394-OHCI controller driver. You may manually select another OHCI-compliant driver for your 1394-Dv interface board. In this case select the driver called "OHCI-compatible.... (legacy driver)".

To achive this, go to the device manager and select your IEEE controller. Right click it and select "Update Driver". In the subsequent window(s) go to manual selection, uncheck the box "Compatible devices". In the new window select the OHCI complient driver (legacy version), and activate it.

Back in Media Composer, go to deck set-up, delete the current channel and re-establish it (Add channel). Select the appropriate deck with "Add Deck". It should work now.

    Yes, the workflow is:

startup your system  - connect your camera - turn it on - wait for windows to recognize it - startup MC

You may also find that once you're finished capturing, you'll need to power the camera down when returning to the edit mode, if you get "flamethrower" errors.

    Re: Capturing problems

Although that mbo should have a TI fw chipset, start testing with an external TI or Agere FW card, a cheap solution if it works

edited..  you don´t happen to have other fw devices connected to your sys ?
