    Idea [I] FLUIDMOTION...

I hate having to go outside of Express Pro (Media Composer / Symphony / After Effects) just to get a super-smooth super-slomo clip. I am requesting that Avid incorporate it's own technological marvel into the next version of Express Pro = Avid's FluidMotion:

FluidMotion (for those that might not know what this is)

Create incredibly smooth slow-motion effects and "fit-to-fill" video using patented pixel morphing technology. Control speed and position using an intuitive curve-based keyframing. Apply the look of 24 fps progressive frame rates to 30 fps interlaced sources with the exclusive FluidFilm feature.

You can keep Noise Industries plug-ins & Marquee, IMHO... I've been requesting this since Express DV was released. Here's another request...how about giving individual software buyers a choice at time of purchase? MARQUEE, NOISE INDUSTRIES PLUG-INS, or FLUIDMOTION? Kind of like Burger King used to say, ya know? "Have it your way" (I want the pickles - hold the lettuce & tomatoe :) )

C'mon, Tewksbury!!!!!! Hey Mo...put in a good word for us, will ya?

    Re: FLUIDMOTION...

Just for the record, Fluidmotion is nothing more than a codec that provides the smooth motion.  Timewarp creates the motion effects, including the ability to smoothly ramp up and down.  Timewarp and Fluidmotion work hand-in-hand.  While it would be nice to get Fluidmotion in XPro, all it would do is provide smoother playback/rendering of the canned Timewarp FX presets we now have in XPro.  It wouldn't provide the result we all desire.  For that, we also need Timewarp.

    Re: FLUIDMOTION...

Just an FYI. Fluidmotion is not a codec. A codec is code that allows picture media to be decoded and encoded. FLuidMotion is a complex set of algorythms that interpolates pixels and creates new frames basded on the new duration set by user based on the old duration as defined.

    Re: FLUIDMOTION...

You're right, Michael.  FM's not a codec.  I knew that, but for some reason have been calling it one.  Guess it's easier to say "codec" than "an advanced set of algorithms that..."  Smile [:)]
