Just tried very latest 2022 vers but still have this issue. Can take up to 20" to save at times and locks me out. This is writing to my Avid project folder on a 7000mbps M2 SSD within my local Dropbox folder - have used that Dropbox way for 10 years to backup projects as we go.
I thought it was because I have my legacy 8Tb HDD carryover from previous system set to spin down/sleep on my new SSD system and maybe its trying to wake that drive befiore saving to my SSD? I dont think thats the case though.
Any ideas guys?
Ultimate 2022.12.1, Blackmagic Intensity Pro, WIN 11 on 7000Mbps M.2 SSD, Nvidia Quadro P4000, Asus Pro Art Z690 i9 12900k 5.0 GHz, 8TB M.2 SSD - its nippy!
We've found 22.7 the better version. Seems to work the best.
Was definitely 22.10 the save issue started. We saw it too in 22.12 too in testing, but found a far worse bug in that version that fundamentally broke our workflow.
Thanks Ant - there is zero comment on the previous post on this so looks like no choice but scroll back to 22.7 - am very wary though having lost so much edit time as the 22.10 installer gave me grief and the support chat function doesnt work - so it was email[:'(].
I think your path might be too long, causing a Windows error trying to access one of the install files.
Try moving the install package closer to the root of your drive to shorten the path name. (e.g. move C:\DOWNLOADS\AVID STUFF\JAN 2023\Media_Composer_22.12.0_Win to C:\DL\MediaComposer or something short like that.
