Can anyone help? I selected the 5120x2160 in source browser (footage shot on Scarlet W dragon sensor in anamorphic), but my 2019 Media Composer Ultimate composer window stretches the image even though the composer is selected to 16x9. When I switch from UHD to 1080p 23.98 in project settings it does the same 4:3 aspect ration. It's my first time working with 5k, so maybe Avid UHD is designed for 4k, 8k, 16k (not 5k)? This is my punishment for spending too much time in Resolve.
when i started recently to work with anamorphic adapters, it took me a bit of experimenting before i found, what i believe, works best for me.
when i start a project, i use my custom format: 6324x2496
that correspond to a 1.9:1 aspect ratio - it looks better in my eyes that the expected 2:1 ( i blame it on my 2:1 adapter :-)
once the footage in linked in my folder, i access the frameflex page and tweak my aspect ratio as needed.
interestingly, i end up with the same image with the two different methods showned in the examples attached.
planning on finishing a couple projects in that format and will convert to smaller files later, as needed.
(lumix gh5 in anamorphic mode 4:3, nikkor lens with isco ultra star+ red 2:1 and rapido single focus adapter)
the time you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted time...

Thank you for the reply. Your custom project suggestion worked. However, I decided to edit this in a 1080p timeline. So, I just unsqueezed the anamorphic wide by adding pillarbox in Source Settings> Reformat.
