    AMALogger

Does anyone know why I have recently been getting AMALogger files? I've never gotten them before and now I have almost 100.  Can I delete them?  I guess I started getting them on 10/2/18. It seems I'm getting one every day I use MPC.

    Thanks.

I'd love to know how we can disable the logging.  Ever since I've updated to 2018.11 I get them.  It is cluttering up the root of the drive.

    Hi Kevin

Do we have an answer on this at all - I also have a user folder on Mac filling up with these AMA Logger files and would like to know the implcations of deleting them - any thoughts on this would be good - it seems there's quite a lot of people that may like to know the answer to this conundrum...

    Many thanks

    Hi Kevin,

Also having the same issue with these files - can they be deleted or will it cause issues with my existing setup?

    Cheers

    Re: AMALogger

I'm seeing them on Mac OS 10.13.6 in the user home folder. ( /Users/AvidEditor/ ) There seems to one file created for each day that Media Composer is used. On a Mac running Mac OS 10.12.6 the files are at /Users/Shared/AvidMediaComposer/Avid FatalErrorReports/ and also at /Users/Shared/AvidOPFrameGeneratorApp/Avid FatalErrorReports/. We noticed this change in the Fall of 2018.

As a workaround I just created a folder called Avid Logs in my home folder. Whenever I notice more files have appeared, I just drag them to Avid Logs and keep working. I would suggest not moving them while Media Composer is running. Otherwise I think it's safe to do whatever you want them. Log files are generally just for diagnostic purposes. I think MC only cares about the most recent file. The older ones are probably only needed if you're troubleshooting an issue.

Ultimately Avid should fix this so log files are saved in their own folder, away from other user files.

We have 6 Media Composer systems. 5 are running MC 2020.12 and Mac OS X 10.14.x 1 is running Windows 10 2 of the MC systems have Mojo DX hardware and... [view my complete system specs]
