    MC version for XW8600 32GB RAM with NITRIS DX

    I was running MC 8.6 pretty smoothly, upgaded to 2018.11 and not smooth anymore.

    What's the highest version I should go for HD 1080 on my system?

    Doing multicamera work for cooking shows. thnks

    It looks like xw8600 support was officially dropped between 8.0 and 8.5. With this hardware, i wouldn't go any newer than 8.9.x (newest patch release - .3 or.4?), *MAYBE* 2018.2, but definitely not anything that includes live timeline.

    makes sense.

    How about a upped up z800?

    48 RAM and P2000 card?

    Dude, get an Z820 minimum.  You'll want it for PCIe3.0 compatibility for gfx cards etc. They are so cheap now it would be silly to get anything less.

    additional thought on this: depending on the CPUs installed in a z800/z400 and older, there may be a missing instruction set which will prevent media composer from being installed as of version 8.0 (somebody fact-check me on versioning.)
