I install Avid on a different partition to the OS and set the media to a different drive altogether.
The latest version of MEdia Composer doesn't let you choose its install location! WTF not?!!!!
I now have a SSD OS drive with 2.5GB spare on it which is fine. But not enough to install Avid. So it's not going there.
Does anyone know of a workaround or is this the end of avid for me?
Thanks
Philip
Hi Philip,
pmehatch:Does anyone know of a workaround or is this the end of avid for me?
Probably get a bigger drive? It's just me but 2.5GB free is way too small for me.
Thanks,

Not quite following.... how big is the OS drive all together in size? what else is on there that could be using space that MC might need?
Have you tried to clean that space and defragment the space to clean up and pockets of non used space. I do this with Norton but also with Disk Utility on my other Mac.
2.5 is a tiny bit of space to adjust the app when using it and other tiems like appman etc so i can see how that might be the issue but worth squeezing as much as you can out of the space.

Did anyone ever give a good answer for this? I'm trying to keep applications OFF my system drive.
thanks,
Toby
