Hi

I've recentlyupgraded to MC8.3 (from MC8.2). On my Win7 pc I now get a Fatal Error when trying to import files and the same if I AMA/consolidate them.

So far I've tried deleting the media databases (including the one in the application folder) and also the MC State file and creating a new user.

I also tried to reinstall Media composer but have had a separate issue where I get told that the Avid Application Manager is out of date (it's not, just won't 'sync', whatever that means) so that gets installed, I have to restart, try to re-install, get the message that the Avid Application Manager is out of date... reinstalls that... restart... etc... ad infinitum...

Fortunately importing works fine on my Macbook, so this issue seems to be restricted to my PC. Anyone have any thoughts on how to either fix the imports or the re-installation?

I noticed that MC8.3 is very prone to error if a file name or path to it non-standard characters. When importing images causing crash after renaming the source files everything ok.
