J and L not speeding up

I'm using MC 7.0 and I've noticed that the J and L buttons when pressed repeatedly do not speed up playback forward or backwards relatively. Instead, video playback remains still until K is pressed. J and L only playback forward or backwards at normal speed. Is there something I'm missing here or should I correct some sort of setting?

Ok, this is weird... Somehow this was solved once I restarted the system. Wow!
