Im new to Avid and Avid Plugin development.

A Moderator told me that, as per my question, If I have Media Composer Demo and I want to develop a plugin for export the video composition to a custom codec, I need to go for the AMA (Avid Media Access).

Basically we want to develop a plugin that can tell to media composer to export the composition to some place (custom filename) with some custom parameters as for the video codec, then be notified when export is completed.

Is this AMA the best approach ? 

How can we start ? Do we need to register somewhere ? Download app, files andor doc about with examples ?
