    Upgrade to 6.0.5 Problem Deactivating

Want to Deactivate before upgrade to 6.0.5 from 6.0.3

When I open Avid Licence Control Utility it shows the Deactivate button, but when I click it I get "x" in red?

Been a while since ive done this and never had this before, any tips.

    Thanks

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to deactivate before doing the upgrade?

You do and you don't.  It's unnecessary to deactivate when doing a point release upgrade.  Although my understanding is that it's considered advisable to do it even then - which you obviously couldn't.  That suggests to me that if you wanted to deactivate, move to another PC then reactivate, you couldn't do that either.  In other words your license is fixed to that PC.

It might be a good idea to take this issue up with Marianna.

Re: Upgrade to 6.0.5 Problem Deactivating

I had the same problem, when I tried to deactivate I got a 202 or 203 error code. I called the help number and after a short discussion "we" decided it would be best to go ahead and install 6.05 and they would call back in an hour and see what happened. Well all went very well after the install 6.05 was still activated and is up and running. Even better I did receive a return phone call, these folks do a great job. Sorry I dont have that number with me at the present time.
