    DS Started dropping frames

    Hi All

Our DS 10.3 has started dropping frames on playout to SR, i have attached a different raid and it is doing the same thing, any pointers as to what might be the cause, I have changed the SFP on the 41 ES and reseated all cards in the bob and the 8400. Also on ingest it gives a HAL error which I guess is a result of the same problem  ?

Have you double checked that Storage Configuration has not changed to something like Generic?

Check Configure Storages... as Jef suggest and, if not that, check the W light on the lower right side of the DS interface and park your mouse cursor on top of it.  A tooltip will pop and tell you the DS services status.  Check if the Media Indexer.  It must be Idle.  If it is Scanning, you cannot play media optimally in this condition and you must troubleshoot the services and the storage.

Best, call Avid Support if you are stuck on this issue.
