Possibly, but it would cause your images to look somewhat squeezed, horizontally.

I have an Interlace project because avid doesn't give you a 29.97 option when creating a new SD project. I have tried to do the timewarp effect and change it to progressice but no change. I have tried to transocde to 1:1MXF and 1:1 10b MXF and nothing. I just can't image that avid can't edit SD footage from a DSLR.

So what is the proper way of starting of this project? should I cheat and edit on a HD project to get the DNxHD?

Ama link and use frameflex to scale it as you desire , if you go SD use a better transcode codec than the lousy DV codec , maybe MPG 50 .
