Exception: DIDReader::XraiseUnexpectedStreamStatus async file system error

    ExceptionDIDReader::XraiseUnexpectedStreamStatus async file system error

Keep getting this error when exporting to HDV device, haven't made any progress. Last outputed 2  months ago with no problem.

Anyone else seen this error message before when exporting to HDV tape?

If you have any external monitoring IO connected, disable it by going into 1394 mode.

Make sure you're outputting HDV and that you're in a 1080i project.  Make sure the deck is expecting HDV rather than SD.

Specific details would help: project type, deck, OS version, MC version, etc.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Re: Exception: DIDReader::XraiseUnexpectedStreamStatus async file system error

HBrock, your inquiry made me look at my system specs and while I was away itunes must've updated, I'm running MC 4.0.5, but my quicktime jumped to 7.6.6, and my OS to 10.6.6, I should be in QT 7.6.4 and OS 10.6.2.

The weird thing is that I am able to export to HDV device from another sequence, the one I currently need to output is the one sequence crashing when it starts making the M2T file.

I hope that my solution is the QT version fix, but I have a feeling the problem stems somewhere else and just happens to coincide timing wise.

I am currently working abroad and for some reason I decided not to bring my install discs along with me, so I will not be making the OS & QT rollback anytime soon.

    Thank you for the help.

I am getting this error as a result of consolidating an hour-long clip.

Re: Exception: DIDReader::XraiseUnexpectedStreamStatus async file system error

I was able to fix tihis error by lifting the color correction effects from my sequence. Some of the color effects generated corrupted files.

If you wish to simply know where your problem is, I suggest doing a video mixdown. The Mixdown should crash at the point of the corruption, and you can check at what exact point that is because the mixdown is saved up to the point of the crash. Go to the crash point (end of the mixdown clip), and figure out what effect OR clip is giving you the corruption back in your sequence. Replace it and try again.

Let me know if this worked, I had a serious headache because of this error.

I am consolidating a clip, not a sequence.  It's an hour long show they digitized for me down in DC.  Does this mean I have to ask them to do it again?

Re: Exception: DIDReader::XraiseUnexpectedStreamStatus async file system error

What resolution are you working on and how did they get that whole hour to you? In a drive I assume.

Before contacting them I would re-import the clip into the Avid and try again.

Also, as stated in above in the thread, check your system configuration as well to make sure that's not the issue. I can personally tell you that I am working abroad and don't have my installer discs, my quicktime updated to a version I shouldn't use, and besides that one time I had this issue with exporting to tape, I have not had any other problems.

    Hope this has helped.

It was a master tape which was digitized HD 1080i/59.94  DNxHD 220 X

It was sent to me on a portable drive.

Oh darn so you got MXF files. Have you tried the mixdown? Does it freeze in the same part always? There are is a procedure to fix corrupted files, I will send it over in a bit. Considering you are only working with one clip, this solution might help you
