Can vob file be imported into MC5?

I have some DVDs created in Liquid that I wish to import portions into a new MC5 project.  What is the best way to do so and still maintain good quality?  Thanks.

.vob can not be imported into MC you have to convert it to a suitable format like Quick Time .mov or HDV or DNxHD depending on the source material.

A freeware program called MPEG Streamclip will do the conversion for you.

Re: Can vob file be imported into MC5?

To load VOB files into Liquid, I had to copy the files to the hard drive, then simply change the extension from VOB to MPG. They could then be imported.  That worked every time without fail.  I haven't tried it with MC - but would it work I wonder?

    Good grief!

I though MC could handle any type of video file.

Would Sorenson Squeeze be able to convert ?  (still haven't opened that program ... !!!  One day I really must have a look at it!!)

Yes. Sorensen can read VOB files and convert them to DNxHD or some other format that MC can read.
