I followed the uninstall 0f 5.0.1 like pdf said.
5.0.3 stalls out at the splash and goes into (Not Rsponding) mode.
Any suggestions?

Is there anything displayed at the bottom of the splash screen when it freezes? How long does it stay frozen before you quit (I ask because mine says "Not Responding" for a few seconds during every startup)?

Yes At the bottom is " Initializing Desktop Video Resources"
I have waited as long as 5 minutes.
Also on the splash it says "License Type: Node Locked"
I am not running a trial version.
I do not if that is normal or not?
The install went well. Restarted started up MC5 got the license prompt chose over the internet came and said already registered and said successful.
But now it just sits there.

It nows has been 20 minutes and still no response.
I think it is safe to say it is not going to open.
If 5.0.1 was working fine and 5.0.3 isn't, I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling. (Assuming nothing has changed on your computer.)

Yes 5.0.1 was fine. And nothing has changed on my system.
It may very well be Your nVidia GeForce card and/or the driver You're using to run it; You'll have to experiment a little with the nVidia control panel settings or with a different driver, consider using an older release too, as it is not necessarily a matter of running the latest; a forum search for GeForce or Your specific model may help as well.

I uninstalled the latest NVIDIA Driver and went back to 197.13. And it is up and running.

I'm having the exact same problem but in a Lenovo T510 laptop with a NVS 3100M. Does anyone know what's the latest certified nvidia driver for MC 5.0.3.4 and where can I find it? On the MC install folder there's only the drivers for the desktop versions.
There's not an nVidia mobile Avid certified driver, by reading the forum I understand that certified laptops run fine with the driver shipped in the box, I think You'll have to experiment a little with various drivers until You find a working one.
Yeah, as we suggested, it was a driver issue: went into Lenovo's site and looked for a previous version. It was hard but finally found the 8.16.11.8898 nVidia Display Driver. Thanks for the quick reply!
same thing happened to me when switch gfx cards, i had to change the drivers, and all is well :)
