Sending an email when something's finished rendering is a great idea - but I don't want it to happen every time I render something, and generally I won't think to set that before I start rendering.
What would be great is (and of course, only if the feature is enabled at all) a checkbox ON the render status window allowing you to set whether or not it'll notify you when finished. That way if I've started a really long render, or one that is taking longer than I thought, I can just hit the toggle and wander off.
Seconded! Good idea!

I had a similar request here,

but I like your idea better.

Perfect solution.
