I have an 15 second video and I want to enlarge it so only the top 1/4 screen is showing full size in the monitor. I can't believe I am having so much trouble with this - but I am. I thought it would be simple and I think it probably is - but I have looked at tutorials and HELP and just am still struggling.
In Liquid it was like adding a 2d or 3d realtime filter, turning off keyframes, dragging the image larger, positioning it - and letting it render.
I have tried the Avid Image Resize effect - and while I almost get there, then somethign goes haywire and I am not quite sure why or what - and then I end up with a 25% image display in the record monitor - and then I try to delete the effect - and I can't even get that done.
I have looked at tutorials (most seem to be for IMAGE pan and crop and not VIDEO).
I just want to enlarge an existing video so that about 25% of it show full screen. It's got to be easy -and I ma just missing something - but it is the first time I have been working with effects.

You could try a Picture-in-picture with a resize.

I will try that - and I want to say that I have figured out several of my issues as far as the 25% stuff - and maybe using the sliders is the only way of resizing and scaling and positon - I was hoping for drag and resize options. So some issues have gone away - but I am not sure I am being very efficient - so i appreciate any suggestions. I also want to sharpen the image if possible - and I know there may not be much hope for that as the original image properties is 528x430x32 - and I am not even sure what the 32 means.
Add a 3D Warp from Blend Effects Dave.
Is the same as 2D and 3D in Liquid but in the same effect.

Like that. After you apply the effect and resize it you can move the whole canvas by dragging it.
You will love how easy and powerful is 3D Warp. There are so much things you can do with it.
In fact it seems that is almost the only effect you will need.
Dave Messinger:...and maybe using the sliders is the only way of resizing and scaling and positon - I was hoping for drag and resize options.
You can indeed drag and resize. First apply a 3D warp effect template. Now look at the icons in the right hand column of the effects editor tool displaying 3D warp. Look for the one named "scaling" (3rd down from the top). With the effects monitor selected, CTRL + K once to reduce the effect screen so you can see the universe of space outside the normal screen. Now, select the scaling tool and with the ALT key held down, drag the scaling icon on the right upper corner to resize with continuous visual updating as you go. You will find that using the icon tools combined with the ALT key is the fastest way to create an effect.

So glad you asked - it's very addictive - pickleball
I have to say I am really starting to enjoy MC as I explore some of these filters and get used to how they work.
Quick question on the slider controls. Is there an easy way to set things back to 0 ? I thought I saw somewhere holding ctrl or alt or some combo and clicking on the control sets it back to 0 - but so far I have not quite got the right combo.
Dave,
You can just highlight the slider and type in "0" on the keyboard, and that will reset the value to zero. (Without the quotes, of course.

Hold down the ALT key and click on the purple square on the right side in the effects editor tool of the specific parameter you want to "normal".
