    Getting started in HD?

I work in a small military broadcasting office that's just getting it's feet off the ground. My boss would like us to start shooting some projects in HD 16 X 9. We shoot with a panasonic DVCProHD P2. Does anyone know the standard camera and avid media composer settings for this format?

That's good, because you'd have a tough time shooting HD 4x3

Hey karmacam, if Larry already spoke to you then disregard this.  What kind of Avid system are you running?  For the most part if you're running something newer you shouldn't have to worry too much about exact settings.  Just start a new 1080i/59.94 project and begin the importing process.  The Avid help menu within the MC software is ferociously useful too.  If it's an older version (AKA - the version of Avid software is older than P2, then now we're talking problems.)
