Whoever had the idea to change a working forum to this 10 times relogin new account user-unfriendly nonsense should be fired. I bet Avid looses a lot of customers who just want to check into the forum to check-out the product they might purchase. With all the new hussle they have a very bad first impression.
Now I have another new Avid account added to the other 4 or 5 accounts (Forum, Avid Store etc) and for all I need to remember logins and passwords?
I don't know what problem you are facing, but I never have to relogin... I login once and I am logged into the forum every time I visit on this computer. If you are talking about having to login at different computers then that is understandable.

I have to login everytime on the same computer, how do you stay logged in?

Hi daktulus,
Thanks for the feedback. The idea behind the new login process is to COMBINE your logins into one master account. With your new master account you can now have a SINGLE email address and password to log-into:
1. Avid Video Community
2. Avid Store
3. Avid Download Center
If you don't want to re-login each time, you might check to make sure your browser isn't set to deleted cookies each time you close the browser.

Adam is right. Once you are logged on to your master account, you are logged into every section of the avid.com website. One user name, one password. I have absolutely no problems accessing anything and no need to keep re-logging on. As he said, your system right now is probably set to not save cookies. Change that and you will only need to log on one time.

Adam and Larry give the best explanations. Also, if you clear your history and cache (which is actually good to do) you clear out your login information each time... I clear out about once a month - which is the only time I have to re-login. I also never click on SIGN OUT.
This is VERY unsecure! Anyone can hack any account. Very bad idea.

HUH??? You have a password, which you can change whenever you want to. What's unsecure about that?

Larry, I think this was in response to me. Daktulus, I only have it this way on my personal laptop or home computer - and if my wife wants to hack my account, she can.... if she can figure out what the word 'hack' means.
I too have had to log in again a few times. I didn't clear any caches (intentionally). However, I appreciate the concept of SSO (Single Sign On). We use it here at Discovery as well.

Hi guys, thanks for pointing out a potential issue. Basically, if you sign-in and select the "remember me" box you should not have to sign-in again on repeat visits. You should have a perpetual cookie.
If you are having the issue of needing to sign-in on every visit, and you have completely cleared/deleted all avid.com domain cookies, then there's some other bug. If this is the case (you've cleared cookies, closed the browser, restarted and still have to repeatidly sign-in), then please let us know.
Sorry for the bumps along the way; but ultimately all sign-ins to anything Avid will end up being much more smooth and easy.

I think there is a difference between always being logged into a forum or a shopping place, where anyone can cause serious damage. It should be divided. People log into the forum very often, into the shop only once in a while. I think it is VERY unsecure to be logged into a shop all the time. BTW: I still have to login everytime (I will investigate into this later - which is annoying and time-consuming), not with a short username, but a long email address. Just annoying. It was much more user-friendly and much safer before.
