Anybody come across this problem. I'm trying to export a quicktime reference or a "same as source" quicktime file and all I get is a white screen. The footage is from P2 cards shot on a HVX200. I'm on MC 2.8.4 using a MacPro 3g Quad-Core using Quicktime 7.3.1. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Are you viewing the QT on the same system as you export? If not, the white screen means that the codec you used to export is not present on the system from which you are playing back. If you are, then tell us what version of the software you are using and what QT version.
In agreement, Unity. In Disagreement, Discussion. In all things, Charity.
BTW..the above was referenced to the SAS....
IF the QT ref is doing it on the same system, then we need to knwo your software versions.
I believe you need to check the "Avid DV Codec” check box in your export settings.

And then there's this little nugget.
Motion Inc
I tried this with Media Composer 3.0 and it worked with both the reference and same as source QuickTime file. If the "Use Avid DV Codec" wasn't selected, the video would be a white frame.
Thanks for the help Bob. It's really appreciated.
Sorry bout the delayed reply. I posted this and then had to jump on another job.
I am on the same system that I'm exporting to. The footage is 720p 23.98 from P2 (DVCPro HD) shot on an HVX200. QT version is 7.3.1. Media Composer 2.8.4. I read the other posts from Bob and I'll try the DV codec thing.
