Hey everybody,
I have a Soundblaster Audigy SE that worked perfectly with 5.6.4; however, I just upgraded to 5.7 and when "initialiazing audio" boots up on the screen, Avid hangs. Any thoughts or workarounds?
Salud!
I reverted back to 5.6.4, so all is well. Nevertheless - has anyone had this problem? Avid?

Here are the specs. Just to note, I've never had any problems with this system with previous version of Xpress pro (Even the graphics card. I still get overlay with the parhelia) . Salud!

Hi,
Try deleting your media databases. Exit Avid. Then open up your OMFI MediaFiles folder and find the two database files (named msmFMID.pmr and msmMMOB.mdb). Delete them. Restart Avid, and the system will rebuild them. See if that fixes your problem.
good luck,Carl

You could try deleting your media databases, too, but Vista's not supported, so I have less confidence that it's going to help.
