AFAIK absolutely not. I was talking about HDV1 but I realise that at least half my fellow 720p sufferers are struggling with DVCProHD. Edius Broadcast seems to be the favoured work-around solution for that, no?

Could someone from Avid update us on this issue - a sticky may be less visible than a rash of threads all over the board but we're still here, still waiting and a little bit of information would not go amiss (or you could surprise us all and just deliver the solution...)

no one cares. And has been stated before Avid does not see these forums as a way of communicating directly with its customers. They are just not interested in that at all. They will release their products however they want when they think they're ready and no give away any info before that.

i heard talking to an avid guy on the phone. he thinks an update will come around march and 720p 25 would be in... i don´t know his exact position though.

We are not offended. Well, at least I'm not :) Anyhow, don't think too much of it. The local Avid representatives are as clueless as we are. They are not told the whole story. People here on the board have encountered this before. Even here on the board some Avid officials made promises that were not met ("It's coming, it's coming", "Q4", etc...)

We are going to spend a whole lotta of money on Matrox this week to solve our problem with Premiere

New feature request workflow

1. Users get frustrated at lack of support for a particular feature

2. Moderator comes on - says I've seen stuff but can't talk about it - hang on in there

3. Someone from Avid comes on and says we're on it - but wait till we're ready

4. Time Passes

5. Go to1 and repeat

So the AVID reps at this years Video Forum (London) reckon that the next release will support 720p/50 but (crucially for JVC users) NOT 720p/25...  that will be in the release AFTER that.. sometime in the summer.

I don't know about any of you - but I want to know how I go about making a complaint to AVID.  Or better still... getting a refund of this (in my opinion) defective product.

Face it, HDV1 just isn't even close to being a priority - no matter what we've been told on here in the past. Nothing anyone from Avid says should convince anyone otherwise. It's very much in their power to deliver it and has been for a long time...

Well I know lots of others have said this but I'm finally convinced it's time... I'm off to give Edius 4 a solid trial run.
