Hallo,

i upgraded our facility from 2018.12.11 to 2021.12.5.

Upgrade went fine. New user interface with containers is new but looks promising.

I created a new user profile. Set everthing up like keyboard etc.

Setup also wokspaces and arrange containers with bin section, toolbar and Timecode window.

When i transfer my new user settings to a different workstation (also with fresh upgrade) my workspace setup with arranged containers is broken. I have to re-arange it. All other setting like keyboard etc. is not broken.

Did anyone else has this problem or is the container arrangement not part of the Worksapce user settings?

I know this problem. At the biggest broadcaster in the city that is named after you :-) the workaround is:

forget about the pre-defined workspace settings (unfortunately you acn not delete them) and work with your own workspaces like 01 Edit, 02 CC for example only. Otherwise you cannot carry your settings from one edit suite to the next absolutely identical suite without losing your container settings.

Does this workspace carry over affect the basic bin layout rather than just err WORKSPACE?

I'm finding that different projects are carrying over project specific bin/container layouts as they are seemingly saved with 'all projects' workspace? It seems nonsensical?

I closed todays big project down and opened another just to squirt out a MOV but this now has greyed out bins/containers from the CLOSED project - the red arrows! Why the f would I want that project/containers open in this?

Sorry - I am a bit aggrieved by the chaos and mess within a 20yr user workflow! It is so awful.

Thank you mate - I am going to have to digest and try that.

Frankly I think it all a bit abusrd as I havent tine for this 're-learn from scratch' nonsense - 4 programmes to finalise online and deliver and all sorts of other bits and bobs to change and finish. And I cant even see my bins tidy and am posting on a forum about it. And teh effect editor is hidden behind my bin in effect mode.  I think its an utter design and total programming fail.

It's proabably going to get fixed "in the next version".
