Thank you!
That's a good insight and thanks for taking the time to write it. Every other vendor has managed it - some 2 years ago. Yes Adobe have more staff etc etc. but where are Avid's priorities? I don't believe they are with individuals, they're with the corporates. Fine, good luck to them, but Editora will take custom away. Editors made Avid what it is today. Avid have forgotten that and are only interested in growth, expansion, stock prices and screw the users - they're disposable.

it's weird, but every time Mac OS switches to another model, Avid backs down and hides.
When will we be told if we can use mac os ventura with avid media composer 2022.10?
Thanks.

Ventura was approved a few days ago. You can subscribe to this knowledge base article for updates:

Thank you, but it is written that it is for the matrix version of avid media composer.
I don't have the Matrix version but avid media composer version 2022.10. Is it ok for me to upgrade my Mac to Macos Ventura and continue to use my avid media composer software whitout problem ?
Hi,
Abdelkrim Bahloul: Thank you, but it is written that it is for the matrix version of avid media composer. I don't have the Matrix version but avid media composer version 2022.10. Is it ok for me to upgrade my Mac to Macos Ventura and continue to use my avid media composer software whitout problem ?
That link takes to you a VERSION MATRIX. The version matrix shows what version of Media Composer are qualified to be used with each operating system.
Version 2022.10 of Media Composer is qualified to be used with version 13.0 of MacOS Ventura.

Let me clarify this...
Every time Apple releases a new macOS, Avid needs to test it thoroughly. There have been many times in our history where we wanted to approve Media Composer for a new macOS based on our testing of the early "developer's version" of the macOS, but then once Apple released the true public version, we discovered that there were changes made between the developer's version and the public version which affected Media Composer's performance, so this demanded more testing. There have also been a few times where we have qualified a macOS quickly, and customers found issues. Thus, we have a rigorous qualifications process. We know this makes the process take a little longer than other NLEs, but our customers have repeatedly told us they'd prefer quality over speed.
I guess that you "forgot" once again, Chris, to send email subscribers the updated release notifcation. On Feb 7 there was an update to Ventura 13.1 — but here we are two weeks later and Apple update for me is from 13.0.1 tp 13.2. So when will the next compatability window to update occur??? And how will I know?
Apple releases versions on its own schedule, and Avid releases versions on its own schedule. When we have something ready, we release it. When we release a new version, you'll see that version instantly populate as an option in your Avid Link app.
why then do you have an email notification option for the compatibility matrux? Are you saying I need to check Avid link daily? or weekly? Fortunately I have found resurces to update the Mac OS on the Avid Facebook Group.
Same here. Not willing to switch to Windows so I switch to Premiere after nearly 20yrs of using Avid. I pay for the Adobe package anyway because of AfterFX and Photoshop and hope the transition will be smooth...
2+ years after Silicon landed at Avid's doors, can you give us any sense of when a native version will be released And if there are no plans beyond Rosetta, can you just tell us? I totally get that it's a game of cat and mouse with Mac OS updates - you describe it clearly. But at this rate, it doesn't appear Avid will ever manage to get on the train.
Hello SirCan I upgrade to mac os ventura 13.3.1 without having compatibility issues with my avid media composer. I'm on Mac Intel...Thank you for your response.

Yes, we are indeed working on this. Our top priority is to do so without affecting backwards compatibility, because most editorial teams who are hired on jobs are using a number of different versions of the app.
We cannot give an approximate date, because doing so would hinge too greatly on whatever macOS versions get released between now and then. So, we appreciate your patience as we work to get this one right.
