    ERROR : Assertion failed: IsValidPosixPath(tmp.getTerminatedBuffer())

    Hello Helpful Avid Community Folks!

    I'm running Avid Media Composer Ultimate 2022.7.0 on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) : 2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 /Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 // macOS Monterey Version 12.2.1

    I keep getting an error message that says:

    Assertion failed: IsValidPosixPath(tmp.getTerminatedBuffer())

    FILE:/Users/username/Builds/workspace/MC/Release_Installer_Git/Mac_Build/coresw/core/src/filesys/AMacFileSystemObject.c, Line: 579

    An option to click "Debugger / Continue / Exit Application / Create Report" is below the message.  I'm able to get by for a bit with Continue... but the system eventually crashes. I tried trashing the msmFMID.pmr and msmMMOB.mdb on the main drive. I've noticed there is a __bg.1 bin in the MXF folder. I am not doing any background transcoding... maybe I can delete that folder?

    Any thoughts/insights/ideas?

    Thanks -

    brandon

    Hi Brandon...

    ere is a good thread where Randy Rike a long time MC user and former Avi employee explains....

    How many GB can be in one avid media files mxf folder?

    Good read and also good practices outlined in the thread.  Ping me directly if this doesnt help you.

    Re: ERROR : Assertion failed: IsValidPosixPath(tmp.getTerminatedBuffer())

    THANK YOU! Is this the thread you are speaking of...

    https://community.avid.com/forums/p/74573/417186.aspx

    Do you think having too many mxf files in one folder is part of the problem?

    AND/OR... is the fact that I have Avid MediaFiles on two different hard drives?

    The main folder on the main drive has (251.51 GB on disk) for 504 items... but there is another drive with 9 folders from older projects.
