    Symphony Suggestions...

    Sliders to resize dynamically

The symphony UI should be able to dynamically resize, similar to how the new audio mixer does in the later versions. Larger sliders would allow for more granular and finer slider control. I also notice how much space the symphony UI wastes on my widescreen monitor. See the screenshot below with the grey areas to the left and right of my control sliders.

    Undock scopes

Having the ability to undock video scopes from their positions in the colour correction workspace and dock them into a tab in my edit workspace would be quite a powerful feature. Not all of us can afford/have external scopes, and rely on software scopes for online editing. I don't always want to be in the colour workspace to be able to see my vectorscope.

    Scene cut detection

With media composer advertising itself more and more as a finishing system as well as an offline system, I think the addition of a scene cut detection feature would help editors who are given high res uncompressed masters and want to colour correct that in Symphony - or perhaps, an offline editor who is given hours of archive footage in a single uncut video and wants to separate the individual shots out.

Improve the secondary colour correction tool

Look at how classy Baselight for Avid's secondary colour correction tools are. Clear and simple sliders for each colour, with hue value and hue saturation controls for each colour. Avid symphony's secondary colour tool layed out in a vector orientation is confusing, complicated, and in my view unintuitive. Why not copy baselight's approach?

Ability to "zoom into" a colour wheel

Often, I find the symphony colour wheels to be far too sensitive. I move the crosshair a tiny tiny amount with my mouse, but yet that particular colour wheel has a massive effect on my image. It would be great if we could somehow "enlarge" one of these colour wheels, to give us much finer/granular control - or at least be able to hold shift for more granular adjustment option.

    Add a vignette slider

I can't tell you how many times I've had to use Boris FX to generate a simple vignette in a multicamera music video. Avid symphony doesn't give you access to shape-based corrections when in "master clip" mode, meaning, I'm unable to quickly add a vignette to multiple cameras in a multicamera group. Adding simple vignette adjustments like feathering, eclipse, etc would really go a long way.

Allow shape based correction in all modes

Following my words in the vignette section, it would be great if shape-based colour correction was available in all segment modes, including the "master clip" mode. This would make it easy to add shape-based adjustments to a camera in a multicamera group.

    Improve Symphony's "colour buckets"

I find that the type of work I do requires me to have many corrections for multiple sequences. The 8 colour "buckets" that Avid provides in the CC module are not enough and even worse, you can't label them so you are constantly trying to remember which correction you saved to which bucket.

This needs to be replaced with either some sort of drop down list that allows for essentially unlimited corrections to be named and saved or even better, some form of gallery that gives you a visual sense of the correction you have saved.

Sure I can save multiple CC effects to bins and name them but I want to use the Symphony relational corrections and so that doesn't work, this needs to work inside the CC module.

    Hey dude.

Some nice new ones in here.

Some are already long-time feature requests, but I always like seeing them asked for again.

I'm logging these and will send them to the team.

    Thanks!
