hi there.
i recently upgraded media composer and on startup the new version is asking me for a hostname. I've tried the laptop name, avid user name, IP address, email, avid ID, the lot.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I believe sharing a screenshot of the issue you see will help getting an answer in this case.

If upon installation you also told the installer to add the "Enterprise scripts", then what is asking you is to enter the hostname for the Avid Nexis hardware. If you don't work in a shared storage environment that has an Avid Nexis, then simply ignore this step. No issues will arise by skipping it.

Thanks very much for that Chris.
I have another question for you. I recently upgraded by mac operating software to Catalina. As such I had to upgrade the version of Avid as the old one was not compatible. Hence the different login procedure. But I now have an issue on all my old projects where I get an audio mismatch error. Normally when that happens I find the offending audio track and re-link it. But this doesn't solve the issue. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hello,
Hmmm... Nothing was changed to the core functionality of the Media Composer app when it comes to identifying clips. I go back and forth in projects between MC7 and MC2021.12, and see no issues. Are you also using any external I/O box like an AJA or an Avid DNxIV or whatever? Because that would mean there is firmware which could now be mismatched, causing audio to not lock-up the way it needs to.
