I'm having an issue where my FF'd button is not working during playback while watching down footage. Is there anything I can do to get this to work? We are working on jump not sure if that could be a factor.

Have you tried re-setting your Avid user settings? First troubleshooting step :)

Also, what are your system specs? What type of media are you working with?

Did you hit the L button multiple times?  The >> icon skips to the next clip.
