Hi all,We've recently upgraded to M1 Mac Minis on our school's labs.I had no problem installing and test running every other piece of software (it's quaite a long list) except for the NEXIS Client Manager. The error is the following: "Failed to retrieve system director list with error: Unable to complete operation. Internal error."
Now I have no access to NEXIS central storage, which is a real problem.
I'm running NEXIS Client Manager v. 21.5.1.44 and MacOS Big Sur v. 11.5.2 on an M1 Mac Mini with 16 Gb of RAM.
Does anyone knows a workaround for this?
According to the macOS 11 (Big Sur) and M1 Support for Avid Products page it isn't supported.

Now I know that. But come on! On a big list of software this is the only one that doesn't work. These Mac came aout almosta an year ago, and are very capable machines to edit video and audio.Come on Avid, when are you going to fix this?
Yeah but why didn't you check that before upgrading all your school's computers if you need to use Nexis? Seems like your fault not Avid's.

It's not a bug that needs fixing. It's a new hardware configuration that requires re-coding of the, application.
Avid only support what it lists, as supported.
The first step in upgrading anything is check its supported.

The only workaround is to setup a File Gateway and mount via SMB. This will be slower and won't give you bin locking with Media Composer but you'll be able to mount the workspaces.
Can I jump in and say that I can understand the OP's frustration with this? Sure, you need to check compatibility when upgrading systems, but it is rather frustrating that Avid still hasn't managed to tackle M1 compatibility by now.

Where can I find that? I've looked in the download center and the latest version I see is this one:
It will be in your my.avid account. The download center is for ISIS clients, it isn't the latest version of the clients.
On the documentation site for 2021.8, it says "Not Recommended for new installations". Why?
Update on this subject: The new driver works perfectly on M1 Mac Minis.
Thanks everyone for the help.
Hey all, sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere, but I'm wondering where I can find a 21.8.x Nexis Client installer? I've looked in My.Avid and the Download Center but can't find where it would be. I'm on an M1 Mac, and according to this page, the 21.8.0 and up version of the client does support Big Sur on M1, but I just can't figure out how I'm supposed to get it.
The NEXIS client on the Download Center is primarily for ISIS customers. Your My.Avid account will display any version of NEXIS you're licensed for - covered under support during the release. If you have support and don't see the version you should contact support.
